Around in Yunogo Onsen is also the season of hydrangea soon!

From mid of June to early of July, today we will introduce the hydrangea viewing spots near our ryokan.

Oyama hydrangea Road

Address：Mimasaka, Kose 656-1（Oyama Observatory desk）

From Yunogo onsen 10 min by car

Preriod：Middle of June – Early of July

About 3000 of hydrangeas are planted on a mountain road about 2.5 km to the observation deck.

You can enjoy while taking a car or taking a walk on a mountain road.

Choho-ji temple

Address：Tsuyama, Iguchi 246

Period：Middle of June – Early of July

Choho-ji temple, commonly known as “Ajisai (Hydrangea) Temple”.

During the rainy season, the lovely sight of some 3,500 hydrangeas blooming is enjoyed by a huge number of visitors both from within the prefecture and from other parts of Japan.

About 2,000 hydrangeas add color to scenery of mountain in early summer.

They have a lot of parking and from the top is a spot where you can enjoy Tsuyama city.

However, You can enjoy while taking a car to go that place.

Kakuzan park (Tsuyama castle)

Kakuzan Park is on the ruins of an ancient castle, Tsuyama Castle, which was built about 400 years ago.

Mountain hydrangeas and hydrangea are in bloom and can view throughout the park.

During the rainy season, Stone stairs become slippery so, please be careful with your step.

Misaki Hanayama Park

Period：Until middle of July

There are about 100 varieties and 20,000 hydrangeas are blooming.

Nerest is also have a restaurant called Kametti, famous as its fried rice, take 20 minutes by car.

Daisho-ji temple

About 5,000 hydrangeas add color to scenery of mountain in early summer.

Also known as “Ajisai-ji”, or “Hydrangea Temple”, it bursts into colorful hydrangea flowers from June to July.

Hananoyamadera Fumon-ji temple

Address：Maniwa, Tahara Yamaue 2127

Fumon-ji temple is called the Mountain Flower Temple (Hana no Yamadera) because of the beautiful flowers blooming at each season.

The temple’s 3,000 hydrangeas representing 30 varieties come into full bloom around June.

Japanese hydrangeas

Hydrangea (Ajisai in Japanese) is the sign of the rainy season in Japan. The flower is adored and honored by most of the Japanese like they do for Ume, sakura and irises. In fact, the flower was first discovered in Japan. Viewing hydrangea flower is a tradition here.

They start blooming from early June to mid July. This is the typical hydrangea blooming season in Japan.

If you like nature, especially Japanese nature then there is no way one can stay away from visiting places in which tons of hydrangeas are bloomed of different kinds.
